Greek fixed and mobile operator NOVA, which includes the operations of the former Wind Hellas, says mobile data traffic on its 5G network has increased fivefold over the past twelve months. The firm is currently undertaking a EUR2 billion (USD2.1 billion) investment programme to expand 5G coverage and enhance network performance. EUR400 million has been invested so far, it says.

NOVA’s 5G network currently reaches around 75% of the country, with the main urban areas having 99% coverage. Total data traffic across all NOVA’s mobile networks was up 60% from a year ago, it added.

TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database includes a comprehensive dataset of mobile and fixed data traffic covering more than 100 countries.
