Epic Malta (formerly Vodafone Malta) is targeting a nationwide 5G network by the end of 2024. The firm, which is owned by Monaco Telecom, has secured a EUR20 million (USD19.8 million) loan from the European Investment Bank (EIB) to finance its rollout. Epic launched its first 5G services in parts of Valletta and Sliema in November 2021.

As part of its ongoing expansion efforts, Epic also aims to deploy fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) networks past 25% of Malta’s households, having begun its FTTH rollout last year.
