As part of its ongoing 5G deployment, Globe Telecom has revealed the launch of 5G services at a further 66 sites, spanning 74 cities/municipalities, across the Philippines. The latest service expansion increases coverage of the National Capital Region (NCR, aka Metro Manila and covering the Luzon island group) to 97.21%, with 90.28% coverage also now in key cities in the other two island groups, Visayas and Mindanao. Globe Telecom reported 4.3 million devices connected to its 5G network at 31 March 2023.
