Vodafone Italia has begun offering an indoor version of its Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) 5G plan that does not require an external antenna. The operator launched the Vodafone Casa Wireless+ 5G Outdoor plan last year and has now begun rolling out the same offer with a self-installing internal modem, integrated SIM card and no additional devices to enable more customers in non-fibre areas to access download speeds of up to 300 Mbps.
The 5G FWA outdoor service is currently available in around 3 million homes in 2,800 localities throughout Italy, while the indoor version can only be accessed in around 150,000 homes in 200 localities, a figure that will eventually rise to around 900,000 homes.
Vodafone Casa Wireless+ 5G Indoor costs EUR 27.90 a month, or EUR 24.90 for existing Vodafone mobile customers, for unlimited data at speeds of up to 300 Mbps, plus unlimited calls to Italian numbers. Activation fees are an additional EUR 3 a month over 24 months.
