Cisco has reached a memorandum of understanding with HTX, Singapore’s domestic security-focused science and technology agency. Under the deal, HTX and Cisco will pilot 5G and AI technologies to help the agency track evolving public safety risks, including cyber security intrusions.
For example, the partners plan to deliver a security and network operations workflow hosted on-premises at HTX, from which artificial intelligence-based operations (AISecOp) will be executed, using generative AI algorithms trained to understand HTX’s specialised domain data. Cisco said the platform would empower HTX to use generative AI to address advanced cyber threats with greater effectiveness.
Additionally, the partners aim to develop and test proof-of-concepts backed by Cisco’s 5G-as-a-service platform. It marks the first time a Singapore-based government agency or organisation has signed an MoU under Cisco’s Country Digital Acceleration (CDA) programme, which targets national, state and local government digitisation strategies. CDA is currently active in 50 countries through programmes that have supported job creation, GDP growth, and innovation ecosystems, Cisco said. The networking and security vendor said earlier in July that it was leveraging the CDA scheme to support the national government’s Digital Transformation Programme, working alongside a mix of public and private enterprises.
