FreedomFi, a provider of private LTE and 5G networks that raised almost USD 10 million during its series A funding round and more after that, has sold to Nova Labs, the team behind Helium Network. No financial details were disclosed.
Under the deal, all of FreedomFi’s team members will join Nova Labs, including CTO and co-founder Joey Padden. FreedomFi and Helium have been working together since 2021, with FreedomFi providing the software and small cell hardware for Helium’s 5G network. The companies will now accelerate the rollout of decentralized 5G connectivity nationwide and help make Helium the standard for decentralized networks.
Nova Labs CEO and co-founder Amir Haleem said the company’s mobile network will benefit greatly from the added expertise.
