Slovak Telekom (ST) has announced an expansion of its 5G network, which now covers 40% of the country’s population, with services added in Banska Bystrica, plus parts of Presov, Levice, Ruzomberok and Stupava. A report from Zive.sk says the operator is now advertising 5G coverage in 52 cities and 124 villages, with realistic download speeds of between 300Mbps and 500Mbps. Rival operator O2 covered 37% of the population at the end of 2022, while Orange reached 31.8% coverage by the end of February this year. Fourth operator SWAN (4ka) has 5G services available in a handful of cities.
