T-Mobile US reported a total of 3.169 million 5G fixed wireless access (FWA) subscriptions as of 31 March 2023, as it continues to make inroads into the US fixed broadband market. The telco claims that its quarterly fixed broadband net additions of 523,000 represents more net additions than AT&T, Verizon, Comcast and Charter combined – for the fourth successive quarter. T-Mobile claimed a total mobile subscription base of 114.917 million as of 1Q23.

T-Mobile’s 5G networks now covers 326 million people, or around 98% of the population. Of this figure, 275 million people are covered by its 2.5GHz ‘Ultra Capacity 5G’ network, with this figure expected to reach 300 million people by end-2023.

The US telecoms giant reported total revenues of USD19.632 billion for the first quarter of 2023, down 2.4% year-on-year. Adjusted EBITDA climbed 3.6% y-o-y, to USD7.199 billion, while net income surged 172.1% to USD1.940 billion as a result of ‘lower merger-related costs’.
