Globe Telecom has revealed that its ongoing 5G network rollout has taken in an additional 237 sites in Visayas (212 sites) and Mindanao (25), covering areas such as Davao City, Cebu, Iloilo City, Zamboanga City, Cagayan de Oro City, Boracay and Bacolod City. The cellco’s senior VP for network planning & engineering, Joel Agustin, commented: ‘We believe that the expansion of 5G technology in Visayas and Mindanao is essential for driving economic growth, supporting innovation, and providing access to digital services for residents and businesses in these regions’.

Globe more than doubled its 5G network coverage in 2022, with services available in 70 markets at the end of the year, up from 29 twelve months earlier. Its 5G network is now available to almost the entire populations of the National Capital Region (NCR), Davao City and Cebu, with extensive coverage also available in other cities such as Bulacan, Cavite, Iloilo, Zamboanga, Tuguegarao and Laguna.
