Orange Jordan has selected Nokia to supply 5G RAN equipment for its nationwide rollout of the technology. Under the terms of the deal the Finnish vendor will completely replace Orange’s existing RAN network and will provide its Single RAN solution that enables one base station to simultaneously operate 5G, 4G, 3G and 2G technologies. Nokia will provide its AirScale portfolio and ReefShark System on Chip (SoC) technologies, massive MIMO radios and Dual-band Remote Radio Head products. Orange will also utilise Nokia’s NetAct network management system, for improved network monitoring and management. Orange is aiming to provide 5G services to 50% of the population within four years.
