SWAN, the smallest of Slovakia’s four mobile network operators (MNOs), aims to cover 10% of the country’s population with its 5G network by the end of the year. The firm, which offers consumer services under the 4ka brand, wants networks live in twelve cities by that date, according to a report from Zive.sk. It currently has networks live in parts of Bratislava, Trnava, Banska Bystrica and Nitra, with plans to add coverage in the towns of Sered, Stropkov, Piestany, Ziar nad Hronom, Topolcany, Dubnica nad Vahom, Levice and Senec.
Meanwhile, rival operator Orange says it aims to increase its 5G footprint to reach 65% of the population by the end of the year, up from 58.5% currently.
