T-Mobile US has announced that it has achieved download speeds of 3.3Gbps by aggregating four channels of mid-band spectrum on its 5G Standalone (SA) network. The trial, which used a Samsung Galaxy S23, was carried out in association with Ericsson, Nokia, Qualcomm and Samsung. The trial aggregated two channels of 2.5GHz spectrum and two channels of 1900MHz spectrum, creating an effective 225MHz 5G channel.

In other news, T-Mobile says that it has extended its voice-over-5G (VoNR) coverage to four new cities: Cincinnati, OH; New Orleans, LA; New York, NY; and Seattle, WA. The cellco expects to expand this technology to additional cities covering more than 100 million people in the coming months. (Note: VoNR services are already live in Portland, OR and Salt Lake City, UT.)
