Uzbektelecom (Uztelecom) has switched on its first batch of 5G mobile base stations for users to test in Uzbekistan’s capital city Tashkent. An announcement on the operator’s website says that more than 60 5G base stations are now live in Tashkent, adding that Apple devices updated to iOS version 16.4 are among the devices able to access the new 5G network, claiming peak mobile data speed capability of up to 1.1Gbps.
