Grupo MASMOVIL has revealed that some 74% of the Spanish population are now covered by its 5G network. The company, which offers services under the brand name Yoigo, confirmed that a total of 1,660 towns and cities in 71 provinces are now served – thanks to the addition of 261 towns and cities under its most recent expansion phase.

Grupo MASMOVIL’s 5G services are currently being delivered both over its own infrastructure and via an agreement with rival Orange Espana; MASMOVIL currently holds 80MHz of spectrum in the 3.5GHz band to provide 5G services on a nationwide basis.

For its part, rival cellco Orange Espana has reportedly deployed a 5G network blanketing 1,529 towns and cities in 52 provinces.
