Telecoms regulator the Belgian Institute for Postal Services and Telecommunications (BIPT) has begun a public consultation to assess market interest in using the 26GHz band for 5G services. A previous survey in April 2019 revealed there was limited demand for the spectrum. Interested parties have until 3 October to submit their comments. In Belgium the 24.5GHz-26.5GHz band is currently used for two-way radio links, with blocks allocated to Telenet and Orange Belgium. The rest of the band (24.25GHz-24.5GHz and 26.5GHz-27.5GHz) is available.
