Bite Lithuania has announced that it has achieved 5G mobile data rates of 2.679Gbps, which it claims is a new speed record for the country. The company launched 5G fixed wireless broadband services for residential customers in Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipeda, Grigiskes, Lentvaris, Garliava, Jonava, Slengiai, Truseliai and Palanga in October last year and says it plans to introduce commercial 5G services for handset users on 14 February.

‘With the 5G internet record, we aim to demonstrate the communication capabilities of Bite. We are proud that the achieved 5G internet speed record is more than 16 times higher than the average internet speed achieved by previous communication technologies,’ said Gintas Butenas, General Director of Bite Lietuva, adding: ‘The 5G recorded at the time of the record is almost eight times higher than the average 5G speed of Bite, which is the highest among the three communication providers.’
