Lithuanian regulator RRT announced the country has won a dispute against Russia over the use of radio frequencies in border areas between the two countries. In 2021, the ITU disputes commission gave Russia priority access for the spectrum after the country said it was using the frequencies for military purposes. This year, the Lithuanian telecommunications regulator appealed again, and the ITU sided in its favour.Ā

The RRT said the dispute has gone on for four years. With the new decision Lithuanian mobile operators should be able to deploy base stations near the border for their 5G services.
