T-Mobile launches four-carrier aggregation on 5G SA network

T-Mobile US has begun rolling out four-carrier aggregation (4CA) on its 5G Standalone (SA) network, with the new network architecture capable of delivering peak download speeds of 3.3Gbps. The cellco says it is aggregating two channels of 2.5GHz spectrum, one channel of 1900MHz spectrum and one channel of 600MHz spectrum. 4CA is already live in parts of T-Mobile’s network and will be available nationwide in the coming weeks.

T-Mobile’s 600MHz ‘Extended Range’ 5G network currently covers 326 million people across two million square miles, while its ‘Ultra Capacity’ 2.5GHz network covers 275 million people – a figure that will rise to 300 million by year-end.
