Brazil ended 2023 with live 5G networks in 282 municipalities across the country. According to the National Telecommunications Agency (Agencia Nacional de Telecomunicacoes, Anatel), a total of 16,359 5G base stations had been deployed across the country as of year-end. The figures were included in the annual bulletin published by the watchdog’s Superintendence of Grants and Resources.

In total, 3,079 Brazilian municipalities have been approved for 3.5GHz 5G use to date.
