Indian telecoms giant Bharti Airtel today (17 March 2023) launched an offer of ‘unlimited’ 5G mobile data for its customers with the aim of encouraging user take-up on its new, rapidly-expanding ‘5G Plus’ network. The company has removed data usage caps across all existing packages for all post-paid mobile customers and for pre-paid customers with a data plan costing INR239 (USD2.89) or above.

Airtel highlights that its commercial 5G network now has a presence in over 270 cities around the country, with plans to rapidly expand to ‘the remotest towns and villages’ under a goal to ‘cover every town and key rural area with 5G services by the end of March 2024’.
