Airtel Kenya will roll out its 5G network in July, the Capital News reported. Bharti Airtel chairman Sunil Mittal said that the company is in the final phase of testing the network before launching it. Earlier this year, Airtel announced that the service would target rich neighbourhoods with 5G-enabled gadgets as well as buying power.

In 2022, Safaricom rolled out 5G networks in five counties, namely Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisii, Kakamega and Kisumu and has now added Turkana, Trans Nzoia and Narok. So far, it has connected 23 counties with ultra-fast internet services. It has added 150 5G active sites, pushing the total number to 368 countrywide.
