Bell Canada has announced the expansion of its ‘Gigabit Fibe 3.0’ 3Gbps symmetrical fibre broadband service to Fredericton and Moncton in New Brunswick province, Atlantic Canada. TeleGeography notes that Bell first boosted its maximum fibre download/upload speeds to 3Gbps in Toronto in April 2022, while in September that year it launched symmetrical 8Gbps internet access in that city.

In Bell’s latest announcement, it also confirmed the availability of ‘5G+’ mobile data speeds in selected communities across Atlantic Canada, including: Moncton and Riverview in New Brunswick; St John’s, Mount Pearl, Portugal Cove-St. Philip’s and Paradise in Newfoundland & Labrador; and Halifax Regional Municipality in Nova Scotia. With 5G+, Bell notes that mobile speeds in Halifax are 50% higher than before. Having begun deploying 5G+ via 3500MHz band mobile spectrum in the summer of 2022, Bell’s 5G+ network coverage map on its website currently displays coverage of Greater Toronto and surrounding areas of Ontario, plus major cities in Quebec (Ottawa, Montreal and Quebec City) and Western Canada (Vancouver, Calgary and Edmonton).
