Regional US mobile operator Cellcom has announced that it has launched 5G technology in parts of Brown County, Wisconsin. Cellcom’s initial 5G rollout covers portions of Green Bay, De Pere, Howard, Suamico, Pulaski, Denmark, Belle Plaine and Antigo. Cellcom says it will expand its 5G coverage throughout 2022 with additional cell sites expected to be deployed in Brown, Door, Kewaunee, Manitowoc and Shawano Counties in the coming months.

Green Bay-based Cellcom was launched back in 1987 as a subsidiary of regional telco Nsight Telservices, and currently serves users in Wisconsin and Upper Michigan. Nsight was founded in 1910 as the Pulaski Merchants & Farmers Telephone Company. It has remained a family-run business since 1923, when the Riordan family purchased controlling interest in the company.
