China Mobile has teamed up with Nokia and MediaTek to trial a three-component Carrier Aggregation (CA) solution in Shanghai. The tests successfully aggregated a 30MHz FDD block in the 700MHz band with a 100MHz and a 60MHz TDD blocks in the 2.6GHz band, for a total of 190MHz of bandwidth.

The trial, which utilised Nokia’s AirScale 5G baseband and MediaTek’s Dimensity 9000 5G platform on China Mobile’s network, achieved peak download speeds of 2.94Gbps.
