China Mobile added around 798,000 mobile customers in September, compared to over 2.1 million subscribers in August, and 1.3 million in July. China Mobile was again the largest mobile operator on the local market in the month, ending September with a total of 974 million mobile customers. China Telecom added 1.89 million users in the month, ending September with 389.89 million users in total. 

China Unicom ended September with 841.58 million ‘Big connectivity’ customers, from 827.13 million in August. The company’s 5G subscriber base advanced to 200.8 million in September from 194.8 million in August, and IoT terminal connections went to 366.1 million from 354.5 million in August. 

China Mobile again recorded the biggest gain in 5G subscribers, up by over 18 million to nearly 556.7 million from August. China Telecom brought in 7.44 million 5G users in the month, for a total of 251 million. 

On the wireline broadband market, China Mobile added 4 million customers in September for a total of 264.92 million. China Telecom brought in 1.61 million customers for a total of 178.68 million.
