British mobile network operator (MNO) EE is to showcase the low latency, high reliability and high bandwidth capabilities of 5G Standalone (SA) in February 2022, as it launches an augmented reality (AR) experience in the capital. Swedish vendor Ericsson has announced that it has been named as EE’s network partner for ‘The Green Planet AR Experience’, in which it noted a 5G private network and Edge Computing infrastructure will be deployed to render AR graphics in real time to event goers.

Commenting, Greg McCall, MD of Networks at EE parent company BT Group, said: ‘This pioneering project demonstrates the amazing new experiences the latest innovation in network technology can create.
