Croatia’s Hrvatski Telekom (HT) and its subsidiary in Montenegro, Crnogorski Telekom (CT), have selected Ericsson Nikola Tesla (ENT) as the sole supplier of software and connected services for implementation of its new 4G/5G Core network. Ericsson’s cloud-native dual-mode 5G Core will be implemented and integrated into the operators’ new generation T-CaaS cloud infrastructure. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
The equipment vendor said deployment of the new 5G Core network will accelerate the rollout of new services and features by the two operators. It also enables the introduction of 5G Standalone (5G SA) that uses the latest 5G technologies such as network slicing and edge computing, and with it the offer of new innovative services to customers.
