Italian ISP Fastweb is collaborating with Qualcomm to implement 5G Standalone (SA) technology on its networks this year. Qualcomm says that the platform will feature Snapdragon X65 and X62 5G modem-RF systems for fixed wireless access (FWA). Fastweb, which is owned by Swisscom, is looking to cover twelve million homes and businesses with its 5G FWA infrastructure by 2025. Its 5G network is currently live in 400 Italian cities and towns.
