The auction of the 3.5 GHz band in the Netherlands will not take place until after the summer of 2023, according to a government brief to parliament. It’s still waiting to confirm the necessary changes to the National Frequency Plan (NFP). Once that is in place, a consultation will start immediately on the auction set-up and licence conditions.

The economic affairs ministry is still aiming to make the spectrum available for national mobile services (5G) from 1 December 2023, according to the brief. In the coming months it will work further on the plans for awarding the spectrum, including for local networks.
