O2 Slovakia says it is looking to have 5G networks live in all regional centres by the end of this year. Having launched commercial 5G services in September, it currently offers the technology in and around the capital Bratislava, as well as at a number of locations in the east of the country, a report from SITA says, citing O2 CEO Igor Toth.

TeleGeographyā€™s GlobalComms Database notes that O2 launched 2G services in Slovakia in 2007, going on to add 3G in 2011 and 4G three years later. It had 1.78 million subscriptions and 28% of the overall mobile market at the end of September 2021.
