Orange Slovakia says it will invest more than EUR50 million (USD55 million) in its mobile network this year as it looks to expand 5G coverage. The network currently reaches 65.6% of the population in 591 cities and towns and the operator has told Zive.sk that it is aiming to have a 5G signal in every town and village of more than 4,000 inhabitants by the end of 2024. The firm says it is also improving the reach and capacity of its 4G infrastructure, with a particular focus on rural areas where households are offered the fixed wireless broadband service 4GNet. Orange added that it invested EUR52 million in its mobile networks in 2023.
