Orange Poland has launched its latest trial of C-band 3.5GHz 5G services ahead of the government’s planned spectrum auction which will offer licences in that band. The operator says it is using 100MHz of spectrum between 3.4GHz and 3.8GHz and nine base stations in the city of Lublin to allow local users to trial the technology, which it says will boost 5G data rates to above 1Gbps. The trial will run until mid-October. Orange currently offers 5G connectivity using 2100MHz spectrum.
