Personal extends 5G to Mar del Plata, Pinamar and Carilo on the Atlantic Coast

Telecom Argentina (Personal) has reportedly deployed another seven 5G Standalone (SA) antennas using its recently awarded spectrum in the 3.5GHz band. The rollout has focused on the Atlantic Coast, covering parts of Mar del Plata (three cell sites), Pinamar (two) and Carilo (two).

The network went live in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires (Ciudad Autonoma de Buenos Aires, CABA) and the Area Metropolitana Buenos Aires (AMBA) in November 2023, with an initial 34 cell sites. In total, 68 5G SA base stations have now been deployed, alongside 311 towers using Dynamic Spectrum Sharing (DSS) technology.

TeleGeography notes that Personal paid USD350.026 million for a 100MHz spectrum block in the 3400MHz-3500MHz band in last October’s auction.
