Phil-Tower Consortium (PhilTower) and Miescor Infrastructure Development (MIDC) have announced plans to create and invest in a joint venture company that will wholly own PhilTower and MIDC to meet the growing demand for 4G and 5G mobile network infrastructure across the Philippines. The joint venture will provide coverage for its mobile network operator clients in the Philippines.

The PhilTower and MIDC combination is expected to enable both partners to expand their complementary geographic footprints to provide connectivity for their customers. PhilTower currently operates 1,250 towers located in the regions of Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao in the Philippines, while MIDC operates 1,250 towers primarily in Luzon.

The joint venture launch is subject to regulatory review by the Philippines Securities and Exchange Commission and the Philippine Competition Commission.
