Polish operator Plus (registered as Polkomtel) has launched its new 5G Ultra offer, which provides 5G connectivity with download rates of up to 1Gbps. The upgrade is free for customers with compatible handsets or routers within the Ultra network footprint, which Plus says will include 356 base stations in 98 towns by the end of this week. The speed upgrade has been achieved by aggregating three 4G and 5G bands ā€“ 1800MHz, 2100MHz and 2600MHz. Earlier this year Plus revealed that its overall 5G network coverage (offering access at up to 600Mbps) had been extended to cover 20 million Poles in almost 1,000 cities and towns, via a network of nearly 3,500 base stations.
