Austrian regulator RTR sad that the Telekom Control Commission, responsible for regulating the telecommunications market, has allocated 5G frequencies from the 3600 MHz and 26 GHz frequency bands to A1, Hutchison Drei and Magenta Telekom. It awarded seven blocks of frequencies from the 26 GHz range and seven from the 3600 MHz range. Magenta Telekom bought three blocks in the 3600 MHz range and A1 bought four blocks in the 3600 MHz range, valid until 31 December 2039. 

A1 acquired two blocks in the 26 GHz frequency range, T-Mobile obtained two blocks and Hutchison Drei Austria got three blocks. The operators can use the frequencies until 31 December 2046.

The proceeds for the awarded frequency packages in the 26 GHz range amounted to a total of EUR 16.2 million, and for the 3600 MHz range, they reached around EUR 8.5 million.
