Samsung has unveiled its new Galaxy A53 5G and Galaxy A33 5G mid-range smartphones, saying the devices comes with a new processor and a battery life of two days. Pricing starts at EUR 369, and the phones will launch in April in markets around the world.
The Galaxy A53 5G will be available in Awesome Black, Awesome Blue and Awesome Peach from 1 April, for suggested retail prices of EUR 449 (6+128 GB) or EUR 509 (8+256 GB). The Galaxy A33 5G will come in Awesome Black, Awesome Blue and Awesome Peach from 22 April, for a suggested retail price of EUR 369 (6+128 GB).
The Galaxy A53 5G is equipped with a 6.5-inch FHD+ Super Amoled display with a refresh rate of 120Hz. On the back is a 64-megapixel main camera, a 12-megapixel ultrawide sensor, a 5-megapixel depth camera and a 5-megapixel macro sensor. Selfies can be shot with the 32-megapixel camera on the front.
The Galaxy A33 5G features a slightly smaller 6.4-inch Super Amoled display with a lower refresh rate of 90Hz and a similar resolution to the A53 5G. The device has a 48-megapixel main camera, complemented by an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera, a 5-megapixel macro camera and a 2-megapixel depth sensor.
Both devices come with an octa-core processor, with no further specifications given. Both smartphones come with a 5,000mAh battery with 25W charging. The devices run on Android 12 out of the box and are IP67 certified.
Samsung said it also plans to launch another model in the A series in selected markets from 22 April, the A73 5G. In addition, a new Onyx colour of the Galaxy Buds2 and Buds Live will launch in April, to complement the design of the Galaxy A series.
