Canadian regional operator SaskTel has announced that has commenced its 5G rollout in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan’s largest urban centre. The telco notes that it has also expanded its 5G network in Regina – its initial 5G market – via the deployment of 15 additional towers, including cell sites covering the downtown business district. SaskTel says it plans to cover the majority of Regina and Saskatoon with 5G by the end of 2022. Powered by Samsung, the 5G network is capable of delivering download transmission speeds of up to 1.2Gbps.
