Mexican mobile market leader Telcel has confirmed that it has extended 5G access to its pre-paid subscribers, meaning more than 68 million additional pay-as-you-go customers can now utilise the advanced network. 68.248 million (82.2%) of Telcel’s 82.982 million mobile subscriptions were subscribed to pre-paid tariffs as of 31 March 2023. In a related development, parent company America Movil (AM) has confirmed that Telcel’s 5G network is now operational in 120 towns and cities.
