Telekom Deutschland, the domestic fixed and mobile unit of Deutsche Telekom (DT), says it expanded the capacity and coverage of its mobile network at 997 locations nationwide in the last six weeks. The firm rolled out 173 new sites using 4G and 5G frequencies and increased capacity at 824 existing LTE and 5G network sites. Telekom reports that around 95% of the population are now covered by 5G services, with around 8,600 antennas transmitting in the 3.7GHz band. By 2025 5G coverage will be increased to 99% of homes.
