Telia Sweden has switched on a 5G network in its 100th urban area after launching in Kiruna. The firm says it has so far deployed 10,000 5G antennas, including 3,500 in the faster 3.5GHz band, giving it 46% population coverage. Telia introduced commercial 5G Non Standalone (NSA) services in Stockholm in May 2020 and expects to have completed its network rollout by the end of next year, by which time 90% of Swedes will be covered by a 5G signal. It is also planning a 5G Standalone (SA) deployment.
