Polish national telecommunications regulator UKE has announced the results of the public consultations held to determine the use of the 26 GHz frequency spectrum for 5G services. Polish operators agree it is too early to distribute frequencies in the 24.25-27.50 GHz band.

This is the second consultation held on the matter; the first one took place in 2020. The latest consultation also covered the use of the 42 GHz (40.5-43.5 GHz) band for 5G. Operator responses focused on the 26 GHz band, indicating that discussion on the use of the 42 GHz band is still premature.

The operators believe that the distribution of the 26 GHz band should be carried out no earlier than in 2026. According to the operators, the minimum width of the band per operator should total 400 MHz on the 26 GHz frequency band.
