Verizon Wireless has achieved upload speeds of 1.26Gbps in a lab-based 5G Ultra Wideband trial. The lab work and field trials used 20MHz of LTE spectrum combined with 400MHz of millimetre wave (mmWave) spectrum in the 28GHz band. The tests used commercially available devices and were completed in a live network test environment. Verizon says it currently holds a total of 2,035MHz of spectrum – 294 MHz in the sub-6GHz range and 1,741MHz of mmWave spectrum.
