Vodafone Spain has launched 700MHz 5G connectivity in 109 municipalities across 30 provinces. The initial 700MHz deployment includes 54 municipalities with more than 50,000 inhabitants and 55 with less than 50,000 inhabitants. Notably, 17 of the 25 cities already covered by 3.5GHz 5G networks will see their connectivity augmented with 700MHz access, including the likes of: Madrid, Barcelona, ​​Valencia, Seville, Malaga, Zaragoza, Valladolid and Murcia.

As previously reported by CommsUpdate, Vodafone Spain paid EUR350 million for a 2×10MHz block of 700MHz spectrum in July 2021’s frequency auction.
