Italian operator WindTre has activated its FWA (Fixed Wireless Access) offering on its 5G network in another five Italian regions, meaning the service is now available to connect residential and business customers in remote areas lacking FTTH or FTTC coverage across all of the country. According to website Mondo Mobile Web, customers in in the remaining five uncovered regions ā€“ Abruzzo, Basilicata, Lazio, Puglia and Umbria ā€“ can now access the service.

The Super Internet Casa 5G plan offers download speeds of up to 300 Mbps and upload speeds of 50 Mbps via an external antenna connected to WindTreā€™s fifth generation mobile network signal and a Wi-Fi 6 modem. It costs EUR 26.99 a month for new customers or EUR 22.99 for existing WindTre mobile customers.

The EUR 11.99 a month cost for the equipment (5G antenna and modem) is included in the monthly fee as long as subscribers commit to a 48-month contract.
