Zain Saudi Arabia has announced the rollout of what it claims is the Kingdom’s first 5G Standalone (SA) network, providing its users with technologies like network slicing over the infrastructure. Zain’s 5G network currently covers 51 cities across the Kingdom via more than 5,000 towers. Zain KSA’s CEO Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al-Degaither stated: ‘Deploying the 5G Standalone technology comes within our role of employing innovation to serve the digital future aspirations and equip our subscribers, whether individuals or in the business sector, with the latest technologies and digital innovations that would enhance their experience and support them to develop their businesses in faster, more efficient and reliable ways. By applying this technology across our network throughout the Kingdom, we will take the digital experience to a whole new level. We will deliver a fully integrated digital ecosystem which will drive us along our journey to becoming the leading provider of digital services and achieving added value to our national economy and the quality of life in the Kingdom.’
