The European Commission has launched the third set of calls for proposals under the Connecting Europe Facility Digital programme. This makes EUR 240 million in EU funding available for investment in digital connectivity infrastructure. The deadline for applications is 17 January 2024.
The latest tender focuses on improving 5G coverage along transport corridors (EUR 100 million), boosting international backbone connectivity such as submarine cables (EUR 91 million), and 5G and edge infrastructure for smart city projects (EUR 51 million).
More information on the terms of the tender will be provided in an online presentation planned for 26 October.
