Uzbek mobile operator Mobiuz has reported further developments in its fledgling 5G network rollout, with 16 5G base stations operational in test mode in the city of Samarkand. The move follows state-owned Mobiuzās recent commercial launch of 5G services in limited areas of Uzbekistanās capital Tashkent, asĀ previously reported by TeleGeographyās CommsUpdate.
In Samarkand, Mobiuzās 5G base stations were initially installed at the āSilk Road Samarkandā tourism centre, in central districts of the city, at the main railway station and at the Mobiuz Service Centre. Investment for the operatorās ongoing network development comes from Chinese project partners as well as the companyās own funds.
