Slovak Telekom (ST) has announced an expansion of its 5G network, which now covers 40% of the country’s population, with services added in Banska Bystrica, plus parts of Presov, Levice, Ruzomberok and Stupava. A report from says the operator is now advertising 5G coverage in 52 cities and 124 villages, with realistic download speeds of between 300Mbps and 500Mbps. Rival operator O2 covered 37% of the population at the end of 2022, while Orange reached 31.8% coverage by the end of February this year. Fourth operator SWAN (4ka) has 5G services available in a handful of cities.
